Who Can Benefit?

Beginning Parents:
Start early and create a positive atmosphere

The easiest way to become a good parent is to learn how to be that parent from the time you begin taking on that role.

  • Start from the beginning and establish a relationship with and expectations for your kids that you feel good about.
  • Create a style of parenting that reflects your vision of the parent you want to be.
  • Challenge your beliefs that many of the most trying aspects of parenting (i.e., the "terrible twos") are inevitable.
  • Work proactively to minimize, or even completely circumvent many of the usual challenges parents face.

Having a newborn is incredibly challenging and having someone to consult with about the barrage of questions that enter your mind can be a valuable resource.

Intermediate Parents:
Identify trouble spots; harness your influence

Even if you designed and implemented what seemed to be a flawless parenting plan, your initial plans for parenting will be tested and will likely need some adjustment.

  • Identify loopholes with your current parenting.
  • Uncover aspects that were not fully considered.
  • Redevelop the plan to fit different stages of development.
  • Work toward obtaining your goals and desires for your kids.

If you haven't yet developed a parenting plan, relax, you still have time. Kids are impressionable throughout their childhood and honing your influence on them at any age will provide a solid foundation for who they become. Recognizing and addressing concerns once they are identified can often lead to a rapid resolution.

Seasoned Parents:
Persist through the years; you can still be effective

Despite all good intentions and efforts, most parents will have to tackle some serious struggles and challenges with their kids. Though it is difficult to shift established patterns, it is certainly possible.

  • Redefine interactions with your kids and concerning behaviors in a healthy, positive way.
  • Drastically reduce conflict and power struggles with your child.
  • Implement improved ways of resolving difficulties, quickly and effectively.
  • Obtain striking results when you commit to making consistent and long-term changes.
